Dakhu is named after his Mom and Dad. DAK is for Dakoya and HU is for Huck. Dakhu also means "hug" in Japanese, and hugs is what you'll get from him after you get to know him better. He has a beautiful bear face with small red ears and a vibrant red colour. He has carried on the progeny that Huck began for us.

As Dakhu is so very special in my heart, he needs an extra special home where he will be loved just as much as I love him.

Dakhu is very shy at first but I would hope in time he will warm up with his forever family. Dakhu will initially require lots of hand-feeding, patience and gentle care to help him be successful with his adjustment into his new home. I feel he might be nervous on his walks but again, in time, will adapt.

Dakhu can only go to a home as an only dog, without small children. At the same time, I feel that Dakhu will be fine with cats, as when he's been in the house, he hasn't bothered either of our two cats.

Dakhu is not a lap, Frisbee or water dog but will be a loyal and gentle companion for the right home. He would do well with a retired couple or a single person looking for a forever friend. I will miss him dearly but feel he deserves a warm, cozy bed instead of an outdoor kennel.
